The Effects of Ketamine Anesthesia on the Blood Sugar Level

Abstract
|
|
|
A study of blood sugar level was made in a group of five diabetic patients who underwent variegated surgical procedure under ketamine and halothane anesthesia.
The blood sugar study was also made in a group of nine non-diabetic patients to whom ketamine, halothane, methoxyflurane, and diethyl ether anesthesia were given.
This limited clinical trials indicates that ketamine is safe and acceptable anesthetic agent in diabetic group as well as non-diabetic patients.
